Now, dingoes can be found all over Australia, disincluding Tasmania. They can be found in all sorts of habitats, ranging from deserts to woodlands, grasslands, alpines and tropical regions. According to a recent study, dingoes may have been thriving in Australia for longer than 4,000 years, however, the earliest finding of a dingo in Australia dates back around 3,500 to 4,000 years ago. The dingo was a descendant of the south Asian grey wolf Canis lupus lupus.
